In the Year of Mercy, Bishop Patrick is inviting the CaFE team to run a pilot GIFT course over two Saturdays 22nd October and 5th November (both to be attended) at Trinity School, Aspley, Nottingham NG8 3EZ, 10.00am – 3.00pm.
Bishop Patrick is encouraging parishes to send several potential course leaders to prepare our parishes for the work of evangelisation. If you are interested in attending, please email the Parish Office.
If you are in your 20s or 30s and you would like to help with the parish youth please contact Father Michael via Parish Office email or Ana (ana.domingas@gmail.com). We are trying to organise activities for our parish youth to start in November. We are meeting at the beginning of September to plan activities. Let’s give our youth a fun, welcoming and interesting opportunity to continue to grow as a Catholic!

Oadby Parish have arranged a First Aid course to learn how to operate a defibrillator. Knighton Parish is also looking for volunteers to take on this role. If you are interested please email the Parish Office.
If you are admitted or are planning to be admitted to hospital, please let us know. You should also inform a nurse on your ward that you are a Catholic. Fr. Michael will notify the Catholic chaplain of the hospital of your admission. Prior to surgery or medical tests or during times of illness the Church encourages us to celebrate this Sacrament of the Sick. The Sacrament is no longer exclusively for extreme circumstances.
Please speak to Fr. Michael if you would like to celebrate this Sacrament especially if this can be done before your admission to hospital.
Knighton Thank you to everyone who has financially contributed. We predict by the end of the appeal as a parish we will have raised just over 50% of our target.
As you are aware we are now in the final year of the appeal and will focus on two areas to increase our funds: Fundraising – I am looking for parishioners to come and meet me to discuss fundraising ideas that as a parish we could organise over the next year.
If you are interested come and have a cup of tea and chat on Wednesday 29th June at 7.30pm in the parish rooms, Knighton. Secondly, Standing orders: If you are new to the parish or indeed simply have not got around to doing this please consider signing up for one year to the appeal . If you would like to do this please contact me and I will organise for the relevant paperwork to be forwarded onto you .
Thank you again for your support.

The Diocese, under the direction of our Safeguarding Co-ordinator, John Creedon is in the process of renewing all DBS disclosures which are over 3 years old. We are well on the way and hope to complete this task by the end of this year. I therefore would urge all parish priests to support their safeguarding representatives by reminding people that an updated DBS disclosure is essential so that they can continue in their parish ministry. All who renew their disclosures are urged to join the DBS update service (free of charge) which would mean that they never have to complete another DBS application for ministry in this Diocese.
Please contact Louise McCole if you need to complete a DBS for St. Thomas More Parish as soon as possible.
Your parish needs you! More volunteers required …
