Congratulations to St Paul’s students
Congratulations to GCSE and A-level students on their excellent results, which they all have worked so hard for to achieve.
Very proud that St Paul’s A-level results were the best in Leicester City.

Both our parishes celebrate the Liturgy of the Word with our children, at 9.00am Mass at Knighton (Term time only) and at 11.00am Mass Oadby (except last Sunday of the month). Our children join the main assembly for the beginning of Mass and are then invited to a room close by to explore the Word of God led by an adult leader. The leader’s ministry is to open the hearts and minds of the children to the word of God and allow them to respond to God’s word in their prayer and life. The leader presides over the celebration, welcomes the children, proclaims the Gospel, leads the reflection and/or activity on the scriptures and facilitates the smooth running of the liturgy. Resources are available to support the leader prepare. Children’s liturgy is aimed at 5 year olds upwards to First Communion preparation. At Knighton colouring and drawing activities are available for under fives (parents only need to stay if their child(ren) is under five years of age.
Prayer for Children’s Liturgy Leaders
Father, you call our Children’s Liturgy Leaders to serve our younger sisters and brothers by sharing your Word and bringing our little ones to a
deeper understanding of your endless love.
May they be effective in the ministering of your Word and persevering in prayer. We ask the Lord to bless all those in the service of our parish communities. Amen.
Each parish has a finance committee as laid down by Canon Law. They support and advise Father Michael in financial matters. They are supported by the counters who record (anonymously by number only) planned giving and collections each week and count and prepare for banking all monies received into the parish. All money received into a parish, from envelopes, second collections, hire of parish rooms to coffee/tea after Mass, should be paid into the parish account as laid down by the Diocese. All expenses are then paid out of the parish account by Father Michael. Each parish also has a Gift Aid co-ordinator who prepares the annual return to HMRC in order for the parish to reclaim 25p in the pound. Being involved in the finances of a parish is about responsible stewardship of earthly matters and ensuring financial law and audit is observed in a transparent and open manner. Whilst it is important to recognise those who use their financial skills to assist in this ministry it would not be possible without all those who are so generous week by week, month by month to the parish finances and a huge thank you is recorded here to all contributors for your regular and generous giving. We would also like to thank two counting teams that have recently retired – John and Anne Watters for 25 years’ service and Yvonne and Nik Brylka-Mee for 10 years’ service.
As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. (Josiah 24:15)
Prayer for those in the Ministry of Finance
Bless those responsible for the financial matters and concerns of our parish.
May they be astute in matters of this world to bring them to the reward of everlasting life. We ask the Lord to bless all those in the service of our parish communities. Amen.

Total on Saturday morning was £1953.00 but this is not final as more money is to be counted. Well done to our pupils, teachers and parents who also endured the night in cardboard boxes.
Hello fellow parishioners
I hope you all had a lovely Easter! First, on behalf of both St Thomas More and Immaculate Conception, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Father Michael for all his hard work during Lent and Holy Week. The Liturgy was beautifully led by Father Michael especially during the Triduum.
As we all know, Father is often performing a “balancing act” whilst trying to provide spiritual guidance to both our parishes. His efforts are greatly appreciated by all! WELL DONE FATHER!!
At the meeting Youth Homework Group was discussed more details in the Narthex. Thank you to both Claudia and Ana for their ongoing commitment to the youth.
Friday 16th to Sunday 25th June is “ARTBEAT” the Clarendon Park Community Arts Festival. More than 2,000 people attended the festival last year and this success and popularity means it is set to return with 70 events over five days.

For those in Year 7 and above there will be a Home Work Club run every Wednesday 6.00pm – 7.30pm in the Parish Rooms, Knighton commencing Wednesday 10th May. Bring along your homework and spend an hour studying with your peers then have some chill time! Led by Claudia Coxon and Ana Manso, they would be grateful for the support of parents and/or retired teachers to help each evening. To attend or help, please sign the clipboard in the Narthex.
