Important Communication

Important Communication from the Diocesan Office Parishioners in other parishes are receiving emails which appear to be from priests and they are very credible – some have paid money over. We have been asked to alert you that this is happening and advise you to ignore all strange emails from priests requesting money.

Health & Safety

We all have a responsibility to be vigilant and ensure fire escape routes and doors are kept clear of obstacles at all times in our Church. The folding chairs have been removed from Knighton to ensure the narthex and fire doors are kept clear at all times. For this reason please do not bring chairs into the narthex or place by fire doors from the Parish Rooms.

Christmas Card Competition

Churches Together in Oadby are holding a Christmas Card Competition. Each year a Christmas Card is delivered to allresidents in Oadby, giving times of the Christmas services at all the churches in the area. This year a competition is being held to select the design of the card. This competition is open to all ages. Designs to be submitted on A4 paper with your name, address and contact details by 22nd September 2019. Please bring your entry to Immaculate Conception church and place in the box provided in the Narthex or give it to either Teresa Heaps or Neville Maggs. The winner will have their design delivered all over Oadby and will receive a framed copy of their design.

Concern Worldwide Ration Challenge

Sheila Giddins is taking part in this challenge during Refugee Week 16th – 23rd June. Sheila will eat the same rations as a Syrian refugee and is seeking sponsorship. Vacancy – Chief Operating Officer

The Diocese has a vacancy for a Chief Operating Officer based at Willson House next to the Cathedral in Nottingham. This new role will provide an exciting opportunity to make a pivotal contribution to the Church’s mission by managing the resources of the Diocese in a creative and professional manner. The COO will report to the Episcopal Vicar for Finance and Administration who is a member of the Board of Directors. Stole of Remembrance – Knighton

All those who have lost a loved one during the past year are invited to place a piece of distinctive cotton material (approx. 5” x 7” / 12cm x 18cm) into the basket by the baptismal font. The pieces of cloth will be added to the Stole of Remembrance used in our Good Friday Liturgy and remain on the altar during Holy Saturday. The basket will be available on 3rd 4th and 5th Sundays of Lent until end of day on Sunday 7th April.

School readers

Could you volunteer to listen to children read in school? School readers are volunteers who give free one-to-one reading practice to children in their primary schools.
